The Darmühlenbach is a left tributary of the Else in Rödinghausen and Bünde in East Westphalia and thus belongs to the Weser river system.
The stream rises in Bieren at Bieren station and flows into the Else after 7.7 kilometres. The spring height is 100 m above sea level. On its way to Gut Böckel, it picks up numerous smaller streams. In addition to some unnamed bodies of water, these include the Grenzbach in Bieren at km 6.4 and the Dornmühlenbach at km 5.3. The moat of the moated castle Gut Böckel at kilometre 5.8 is fed by the Darmühlenbach and once powered the manor's watermill. At kilometre 3.1 it flows through the Ziegeleigrube Ennigloh nature reserve in Bünde. At kilometre 2.1 it picks up the Holser Bach on the right-hand side. At kilometre 1.0 it crosses under the A 30 motorway. At river kilometre 12, the Darmühlenbach flows into the Else near Bünde-Ahle. The mouth height is about 60 m above sea level. This means that the Darmühlenbach has overcome a height of around 40 metres on its 7.7-kilometre-long course.
