The Pestrup burial site in western Lower Saxony is located about 2.5 km south-southeast of the center of Wildeshauser, halfway to the Wildeshauser community of Pestrup, and is a heath area under nature and monument protection within the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park. The area, which is approximately 30 hectares in size, lies within the Pestrup burial site and Rosengarten nature reserve. With over 530 large and small burial mounds, it is the largest Bronze and Iron Age necropolis in northern Central Europe. The burial site is part of the Megalith Culture Road and is located about 1 km west of the Hunte; to the east, it is bordered by the Pestrup Moor.
