The nature reserve covered an area of 3.9 hectares. It had been under nature protection since July 23, 1939, making it the oldest nature reserve in Bremen. By ordinance on May 30, 2015, the nature reserve regulation was abolished and the area was integrated into the nature reserve "Borgfelder Wümmewiesen".
