Schloss Eickhof, sometimes also known as Schloss Eickhoff, is a castle near Liebenau in Lower Saxony on a bend in the Große Aue. It now houses a Zen monastery and is not open to the public.
After the division of the "Common Forest", the Eickhof estate underwent a drastic change. It had already come into the possession of the Brunswick chief huntsman Marbod von Kalm by purchase. At that time, the Eickhof was an agricultural estate. Most of the properties were located in the Wesermarsch. In 1860, the estate had a livestock of 8 horses, 40 cattle, 390 pigs and 800 sheep. The Lord of Kalm increased his property by acquiring two former fiefdoms and by buying the two farms Vilkmann and Hesterberg in Hemmeringhausen. The new lord of Kalm was not interested in agriculture, he sold the manor lands in the Wesermarsch and acquired large heath areas of the "Liebenau Forest" from the domain administration, which he had reforested. The district, called "Eickhofer Heide" on older maps, thus became a large forest estate. There was no more room for flocks of sheep in it. Von Kalm had the farms in Hemmeringhausen demolished, as well as the brickworks built by his predecessors near the Jewish cemetery. On the foundations of the old manor house, the new Eickhof Castle was built after 1870 with a castle garden, nursery and outhouse.
