Sankt Marien is a Roman Catholic parish church in Lüneburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. The parish belongs to the deanery of Lüneburg in the diocese of Hildesheim. The church dedicated to the patron saint of the Virgin Mary, Mother of God, conceived without original sin, is located in Friedenstraße.
With the introduction of the Reformation, Lüneburg became Protestant. In 1532, the last Holy Mass in Lüneburg for a long time took place in St. Michael's Church. On January 1, 1850, a Catholic mission station was founded in Lüneburg, and its services were initially held in the prayer hall of the "chain penitentiary". Before 1850, Catholic services were occasionally held in Lüneburg by the parish of Celle. As early as the spring of 1850, the Catholic parish of Lüneburg was founded, and its initially huge catchment area also included Hamburg-Harburg, Lüchow, Soltau and Uelzen.
