The brewery Gebrüder Becker was a beer brewery in St. Ingbert from 1877 to 1998 and is among the oldest breweries in Saarland that survived the years 1906 to 1918. This time period was characterized from the breweries' perspective by the introduction of customs tariffs for raw material procurement and beer sales, the introduction of temporary levies or taxes, economic fluctuations in the very sensitive Saar region, and of course, World War I with all its impacts.
