The Sennefriedhof is a cemetery in the city of Bielefeld, Germany. Located in the district of Senne, the site is one of the largest cemeteries in Germany with almost 100 hectares.
Due to the increasing population of the city of Bielefeld in 1900, the three previous cemeteries were no longer sufficient. The mayor of the city at the time, Rudolf Stapenhorst, together with Friedrich Schulz, head of the city's planning department, and Paul Meyerkamp, director of horticulture, decided to build a new cemetery at the gates of the city.
