Paderborn-Haxterberg Airfield is a special airfield in the city of Paderborn in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, which has existed since 1973.
The Paderborn-Haxterberg airfield is located in the landscape of the Paderborn plateau near a maximum 244 m high hill called Haxterberg, which is located about 4 km south of Paderborn. It extends near the junction of the B 68 from the B 64 and not far north over the valley of the Ellerbach, which is an eastern tributary of the Altenau.
The name Haxterberg is derived from the Haxthusen desert, after the noble family of the von Haxthausen family who used to live there named themselves, whose ancestral seat is the Haxterberg tower hill.
