Fürstenberg Abbey is a former Benedictine abbey in Xanten, North Rhine-Westphalia, in the diocese of Münster.
A chapel was consecrated to Martin of Tours by Archbishop Hildolf of Cologne in Fürstenberg in 1076. In 1116, Archbishop Frederick of Schwarzenburg entrusted the chapel to Michaelsberg Abbey. On the advice of Norbert de Xanten, Henri de Darnick gave the estate to the Benedictine community on the condition that they build a monastery. Frederick attests to this donation in 1119. At that time, there was already St. Mary's Abbey in Fürstenberg, a Romanesque abbey church with three naves and four towers. This suggests the creation of a double monastery. At the beginning of the thirteenth century, the men left Fürstenberg, the convent remained.
