The Prosperstraße heap is a spoil tip in Bottrop. It was created between 1983 and 1991 as a dump for the Prosper-Haniel mine and covers an area of 31.5 hectares. The summit is about 94 meters above NHN and thus 57 meters above the surrounding level.
A ski hall, the Alpincenter Bottrop, was built on the heap from 2000 to 2001. Over the following years, the recreational value of the site was further developed with a summer toboggan run and high rope climbing garden, parking lot, and gastronomy on the heap summit, as well as an indoor skydiving hall at the foot of the heap, operated by the Dutch Van der Valk Group. The latest attractions are an indoor paintball facility and a mountain bike track. As a hiking area, the heap is less suitable.
