The ruins of the gatehouse of Ludgerusburg with fortifications date back to the second half of the 17th century. The Ludgerusburg was built under Prince-Bishop Christoph Bernhard von Galen but was never completed and was demolished after the bishop's death. The gatehouse ruins feature arched niches on the sides and some loopholes. The historical site provides access to the Coesfeld City Park. It can be accessed from the park towards Kulturallee Osterwicker Straße or from the sidewalk of Kulturallee.
