La ruina de la puerta de entrada de la Ludgerusburg con estructuras fortificadas data de la segunda mitad del siglo XVII. La Ludgerusburg fue construida bajo el príncipe obispo Christoph Bernhard von Galen, pero nunca se completó y fue demolida tras la muerte del obispo. La ruina de la puerta tiene nichos cerrados con arco de medio punto a los lados y parcialmente troneras. El conjunto histórico forma una entrada al parque de la ciudad de Coesfeld. Se puede acceder desde el parque en dirección a la Kulturallee Osterwicker Straße o desde la acera de la Kulturallee.
