The Donatus Lake is a lake located in the city area of Brühl in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis. It is situated in the Ville east of the Erftstadt district of Liblar. It is a residual lake from the former brown coal open-pit mine Donatus, which was named after Saint Donatus.
The lake was formed from the residual pit of the exhausted brown coal mining operation Donatus. Brown coal was extracted here from 1889 to 1948. At the western edge of the pit stood the large Donatus briquette factory.
