Flaeming-Skate

Flaeming-Skate is the name for a pathway system in the Brandenburg district of Teltow-Fläming, covering the area of the cities of Luckenwalde, Jüterbog, Baruth/Mark, the Dahme/Mark office, and the municipalities of Niederer Fläming, Niedergörsdorf, and Nuthe-Urstromtal, specifically designed for the needs of inline skaters, but can also be used by cyclists and other roller sports. This is the longest continuous stretch of its kind in Europe. The project was inaugurated in 2001, built with various funding to develop tourism in this structurally weak region. The district of Teltow-Fläming is responsible, managing all activities related to advertising, marketing, and sponsorship around Flaeming-Skate through Flaeming-Skate GmbH. Flaeming-Skate is a registered trademark.

The network of paths has a total length of approximately 230 km. It consists of circular tracks that are 2 to 3 meters wide and typically 2-meter wide feeder paths, which are topped with a very fine layer of asphalt with a 0.5 mm grain size, as well as the Skate Arena Jüterbog. The paths lead through the Baruther Urstromtal and the Lower Fläming. Some sections were laid out on the former railway embankment of the Jüterbog-Luckenwalde district railway.
