The Protestant Cemetery of Altglienicke is located at Am Alten Friedhof Street No. 27–44, above Rudower Street in the Berlin district of Treptow-Köpenick, district of Altglienicke. The cemetery was established there in 1884, is managed by the Protestant Church Community of Altglienicke, and now covers an area of 19,169 m². The cemetery chapel from 1904/05, the enclosing wall with the hereditary burials, and the entrance portal from 1905 are listed in the Berlin Monument List.
The community, first documented as Glinik in 1375, had a churchyard surrounding the village church as a burial site for several centuries. Due to its location in the Berlin glacial valley, a marshy area with a high groundwater table and recurring floods until the construction of the Teltow Canal, the site proved to be less suitable due to occasional uplift of coffins, so a higher burial site was sought in the 18th century. This could be found close to the church, given the nearby slope edge to the Teltow high plateau, at today's Köpenicker Straße 33.
