Village Church Krausnick

The village church of Krausnick is the Protestant church in the village of Krausnick, which belongs to the municipality of Krausnick-Groß Wasserburg in Brandenburg. It is part of the Protestant parish of Krausnick-Neu Schadow in the church district of Niederlausitz of the Protestant Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Oberlausitz.
The church is known for its unusual floor plan, designed in the shape of a Greek cross. It was built as a half-timbered structure between 1726 and 1728 on a rise located north of the village. The model was the first Luisenstadt church in Berlin, built by Martin Grünberg. The builder was Friedrich Erdmann von Oppen. Entrances to the church were created at the eastern, southern, and northern arms of the cross. A patronage box was constructed in the southern arm. In this area, the windows are arranged in two stories. The remaining windows are designed as flat arches and begin at the height of the gallery. The church is covered by a hipped roof. In the center of the cross rises an octagonal tower clad in boards, topped with a lantern and a curved dome. A clock is situated on the tower.
