The House of the Forest in Gräbendorf is a forest educational institution of the State Enterprise for Forestry Brandenburg and is under the jurisdiction of the Königs Wusterhausen Forestry Office. In addition to the Frauensee Forestry Office, there are facilities for educational activities. The outdoor area consists of a 3,000 m² forest teaching garden. The institution was founded in 1978 as the Nature Teaching Cabinet Frauensee. As one of Germany's traditional forestry nature conservation centers, it carries out the forestry service task of forest education on behalf of the Ministry for Rural Development, Environment, and Agriculture of the State of Brandenburg by, for example:
Furthermore, the House of the Forest also coordinates species documentation in the forest by Brandenburg foresters, addresses tasks related to species protection in the forest, and publishes forestry species protection recommendations in the series "Living Space Forest."
