Village Church Pretschen

Pretschen, Lower Sorbian Mrocna, is a district of the independent municipality of Märkische Heide in the Dahme-Spreewald district. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1004. Until its incorporation in 2003, Pretschen was an independent municipality.
Pretschen is located about 20 km southwest of Beeskow and 18 km south-southeast of Storkow on the edge of the Lower Spreewald among pine forests, flood meadows, ditches, and streams of the Spree. The Pretschen Spree, which flows past the village, is a side arm of the Great or Main Spree, which flows between Schlepzig and Plattkow. The district borders the districts of Alt-Schadow and Limsdorf to the north, Werder/Spree and Plattkow to the northeast, the district of Wittmannsdorf to the southeast, Gröditsch and Kuschkow to the south, the district of Neu Schadow to the west, and again Alt-Schadow to the northwest. The village can be reached via the K6117 from Wittmannsdorf or Gröditsch.
