The Erdbach, also known as Ernsbach in its upper reaches, is a 7-kilometre-long right tributary of the Mümling in the Odenwald, which probably gave its name to the town of Erbach and the district of Dorf-Erbach.
The Erdbach rises in the red sandstone Odenwald about 600 metres northeast of the village of the Erbach district of Ernsbach, in the Löwengrund below the Hohe Straße. It flows in a westerly direction through this village and strives towards its union with the only significant tributary, the Erbucher Bach coming from the south. Up to this point, it is also known by the surname Ernsbach.
