Rackel, Upper Sorbian, is a village in the eastern Saxon district of Bautzen and has belonged to the municipality of Malschwitz since 1994. It is located in Upper Lusatia and is situated in the settlement area of the Sorbs.
Rackel is, atypical for the region, a medium-sized street village about 11 km east of Bautzen and 6 km west of Weißenberg. The municipal center of Malschwitz is 5 km away. The village lies on the southern edge of the Upper Lusatian Lowlands. South of Rackel, the hilly Upper Lusatian landscape begins, rising by more than thirty meters. At the western edge of the village, the Löbauer Water emerges from its narrow valley and splits into several branches to the north. The estate is located a little away to the south of the actual street village on the road to Cannewitz.
