Berbersdorf is a district of the municipality of Striegistal in the district of Mittelsachsen, Free State of Saxony. The locality, along with its district Schmalbach, merged with three other places to form the municipality of Striegistal on January 1, 1994, which was then expanded to include the municipality of Tiefenbach on July 1, 2008.
Berbersdorf is located in the center of the municipality of Striegistal in a depression at the lower reaches of the Berbersdorfer Bach, a tributary of the Striegis. To the west of the locality, the Große and Kleine Striegis merge to form the Striegis. In the valley of the Striegis, northwest of the locality, is the viewpoint "Hoher Stein". The distance to the state capital Dresden is approximately 40 km, while Chemnitz is around 30 km away. Leipzig is about 100 km away via the A 14.
