Lampertswalde is located southeast of Sörnewitz and the main village of Cavertitz. South of Lampertswalde are Leisnitz and Wellerswalde, to the southwest is Großböhla, to the northwest is Bucha, and to the north are Zeuckritz and Schöna.
Lampertswalde was first mentioned in documents in the year 1221. The place name is likely derived from the locator of the German settlement Lamprecht. The village developed from a typical Slavic round village and a Franconian forest strip village. The place suffered from the consequences of the Thirty Years' War. The two districts only merged around 1800.
