Wörlitzer Park

The Wörlitz Park, also known as the Wörlitz Garden or Wörlitz Gardens, in Wörlitz in the district of Wittenberg, is an important part of the "Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom", which is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was created in the second half of the 18th century under the reign of Prince Leopold III Friedrich Franz von Anhalt-Dessau. The park was created on Lake Wörlitz, a tributary of the Elbe, and is part of the Saxony-Anhalt Garden Dreams network. It covers a total area of 112.5 hectares and is directly adjacent to the city of Wörlitz.
The park was laid out from 1769 to 1773 and expanded until 1813; it is considered one of the first and is one of the largest German landscape parks based on the English model.
