We are pleased that you are interested in visiting the wild horses in the Merfelder Bruch nature reserve!
In the nature reserve - far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - you will find a peacefully grazing herd, lively with frolicking and playing foals. If you stay longer, the instinct-driven behavior of the horses in family and herd groups becomes apparent.

Visit

The wild horse trail is open from March 12, 2022 on Saturdays and Sundays as well as on public holidays in NRW (until November 1 inclusive) from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Dogs are allowed on a leash.

Guided Tours

Visitor groups of 10 or more can observe and experience the wild horses in their natural habitat under expert guidance (duration approx. 1 hour) by prior appointment from Monday to Friday. No dogs are allowed!
