The Pritzwalk train station is a branch line junction in the town of the same name in Brandenburg. Its facilities were destroyed in 1945 by the explosion of a munitions train and were subsequently rebuilt. The new reception building, constructed in the early 1950s, is a listed building, as is a railway water tower built in the late 1930s, the former locomotive shed of the East Prignitz district railways, and a memorial for the victims of the explosion in 1945.
The station is located in the town of Pritzwalk in the Prignitz district, slightly south of the city center in northern Brandenburg. The station is oriented in an east-west direction, following the layout of the line from Wittenberge to the Mecklenburg border near Buschhof, which was the first railway line that Pritzwalk was connected to. On the west side of the station, the line from Neustadt merges from the south, exiting again to the north on the east side. The Pritzwalk–Suckow railway line begins at the station and initially runs westward parallel to the line from Wittenberge, before turning northwest.
