Graes, with around 1700 inhabitants, is the smallest district of Ahaus in the western Münsterland in northwestern North Rhine-Westphalia.
Graes was first mentioned in documents in 1098. Until the municipal reorganization that came into effect on January 1, 1975, Graes was a farming community of the municipality of Wessum. Since this reorganization, Graes has had village rights.
