The Steigersbach is a 6 km long stream flowing northeast in the northeastern part of Baden-Württemberg, in the Kirnberg Forest and the Gaildorf Basin, which empties into the upper Kocher from the left and southwest just before the district of Unterrot in the small town of Gaildorf in the Schwäbisch Hall district.
The Steigersbach originates at about 475 m above sea level near the hamlet of Wildgarten, slightly north of Gschwend, opposite the road triangle there at Bundesstraße 298. Initially, it flows east-northeast and, after about a hundred meters, enters the large forest area between the Bundesstraße and the Kochertal to its northeast, where it covers most of its course.
