The Lindlar train station was located on the northwestern elevation of the municipality of Lindlar in the Oberberg district. It gave the railway line Cologne-Mülheim–Lindlar the last part of its name as the terminus.
The further construction of the Cologne-Mülheim–Lindlar railway line on the section Immekeppel–Lindlar took a long time to complete. In January 1912, the section Immekeppel–Hommerich was initially finished. Finally, in December 1912, the section from Hommerich to Lindlar was opened. Passenger train services ended in 1960. Freight traffic ceased in 1966. In the same year, the tracks on the section were dismantled.
