Het station Lindlar lag op de noordwestelijke hoogte van de gemeente Lindlar in de Oberbergischer Kreis. Het heeft de spoorlijn Köln-Mülheim–Lindlar het laatste deel van zijn naam gegeven als eindstation.
De verdere aanleg van de spoorlijn Köln-Mülheim–Lindlar op het gedeelte Immekeppel–Lindlar liet lange tijd op zich wachten. In januari 1912 werd aanvankelijk het spoortraject Immekeppel–Hommerich voltooid. Ten slotte werd in december 1912 het spoortraject van Hommerich naar Lindlar geopend. Het einde kwam in 1960 voor personenvervoer. Het goederenverkeer kwam in 1966 tot stilstand. In hetzelfde jaar werden de sporen op het spoortraject gedemonteerd.
