The Hesselte lock is a lock on the Dortmund-Ems Canal. It is located in the district of Hesselte in the municipality of Emsbüren, in the south of the Emsland district.
The Hesselte lock is part of the so-called Rheine lock staircase. On this approximately 29-kilometer-long section of the canal between the Bevergern lock and the Gleesen lock, a height difference of nearly 29 meters is overcome. On the waterway from Bevergern to Gleesen, three more locks must be passed: Rodde, Altenrheine, and Venhaus.
