The Augsburg garbage mountain, also known as the Augsburg rubble mountain, is an artificial elevation in the northern part of the Augsburg urban area. The rubble mountain of the Augsburg-Nord landfill rises about 55 meters above its surroundings, which are located approximately 457 meters above sea level, reaching a height of 512 meters.
The former landfill covers an area of 420,000 m² and is located in the district of Augsburg-Firnhaberau, northeast next to the A 8 highway bridge over the Lech, which was renewed in 2007. The area is situated on Augsburg land, but the property owner is largely the city of Gersthofen.
