Hilwartshausen

The Klostergut Hilwartshausen in the Wesertal is a manor in the village of Gimte in the town of Hann. Münden.

The estate Hilwartshausen is located about 3.5 km north-northwest of the city center of Hann. Münden. It lies directly on the left bank of the Weser at river kilometer 3.6 at an elevation of around 120 m above sea level; on the opposite bank, the village of Gimte extends approximately 1.5 km to the south of the estate. The border with Hesse runs about 850 m to the west along the eastern slope of the Reinhardswald or the nearby Steinkopf. At the foot of the mountain, to the west of the estate, the federal highway 80 runs through the section Reinhardshagen–Hann. Münden in a north-south direction. This road shares its route with the “Frau-Holle-Route” of the German Fairy Tale Route and the Wesertalstraße. Immediately northeast of the B 80, the "Piepengraben" coming from the Steinkopf flows into the Weser at the state border.
