The Kahler Asten Nature Reserve is a 48.6 ha large nature reserve located on the Kahler Asten in the Rothaargebirge. It is situated in the city area of Winterberg west of the Winterberg city center in the Hochsauerlandkreis of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The Kahler Asten Nature Reserve lies in the Sauerland-Rothaar Mountains Nature Park on the high elevations near the summit of Kahler Asten. Its western boundary is the city border of Winterberg to Schmallenberg, and near its western boundary lies the source of the Lenne. In the area of Schmallenberg, the nature reserves Kahler Asten and Oberes Lennetal are adjacent.
