The Mainzertor Barracks, originally called the Mainz Casemates Corps, was a barracks in Koblenz. It was built from 1820 to 1823 as part of the Prussian city fortifications of Koblenz, and thus was a part of the Koblenz and Ehrenbreitstein fortress.
In its basic features, the Mainzertor Barracks corresponded to the neighboring Löhrtor Barracks. The actual Mainz Gate formed the central building of the overall 138-meter long complex. It was particularly distinguished by its two round gate towers on the right and left of the passageway. Adjacent to the gate were a 34-meter long, two-story casemate corps on each side, right and left. The corps was completed by a wing casemate, which also served as a ditch defense. On top of these was a blockhouse. The complex was preceded by a dry moat as an obstacle to approach, over which a bridge led to the gate.
