The glider airfield Daun-Senheld is located on a ridge directly between two Eifel maars in the district of the municipality of Mehren in the Vulkaneifel district of Rhineland-Palatinate.
In the 1930s, there was already a glider school at Radersberg near Daun, which was dissolved after the end of the war in 1945. In 1957, an aeroclub was founded by regional pilots, and a glider airfield was established at Senheld, which is now operated by the Segelflugverein Vulkaneifel e.V. The site has been gradually expanded. In 1977, the runway was asphalted. After initially only winch launches were possible, towing launches were also made possible.
