The Sulzbach is a right-side tributary of the Saar. The Sulzbach flows through Altenwald, Sulzbach, Dudweiler, and Jägersfreude before it merges into the Saar in Saarbrücken.
The Sulzbach originates from the confluence of the Ruhbach from the left and the Moorbach from the right in the Sulzbacher district of Altenwald. It drains the Saarkohlenwald and follows a partially underground, piped course from Sulzbach. Finally, it flows in from the right into the Saar at an elevation of about 194 m.
