The Zwillbrocker Venn or (less commonly) Zwilbroeks veen is a nature reserve on the Dutch border just north of Meddo, bordering the Dutch municipalities of Berkelland and Winterswijk. This protected nature reserve is a breeding ground for more than a hundred bird species.
Germany's largest inland black-headed gull colony breeds in the wetland, with 16,000 gulls counted.
Furthermore, the Zwillbrocker Venn is the northernmost breeding area for flamingos in Europe. More than forty flamingos live in the area.
