The Salbruch nature reserve is located in the area of the cities of Tönisvorst, Viersen, and Willich in the Viersen district in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The area, which covers approximately 327.35 hectares and was placed under nature protection in 1990, extends northeast of the main city of Viersen. To the west runs the state road L 39 and the A 61, while the L 29 runs to the south. The Niers river flows from the southeast to the northwest through the area.
