Porschendorf is a district of the municipality of Dürrröhrsdorf-Dittersbach, which belongs to the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains in Saxony. The place on the Wesenitz was first mentioned in 1311 as "Borsthendorff." The administrative village, which already had a parish church around 1500, was administered in the 16th century by the office of Lohmen and later by Hohnstein. Around 1950, the population in Porschendorf, including its district Bärreut, reached a peak of 583 inhabitants. The neighboring Elbersdorf was incorporated in 1969. Since 1994, Porschendorf has belonged to Dürrröhrsdorf-Dittersbach.
