Meusegast

Meusegast is a district of the town of Dohna in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains, Saxony. It consists of Nieder- and Obermeusegast.

Meusegast is located about three kilometers southeast of the historic old town of Dohna. It is situated on the high plateau between Müglitz to the west and Seidewitz to the east, south of the Elbtal Basin. The terrain steadily slopes down towards the northeast towards Eulengrund near Krebs. To the southwest of Meusegast, it reaches its highest point of over 290 m above sea level at Ziegenrücken along the municipal border to Müglitztal. The surrounding area of Meusegast, with the exception of the wooded steep slopes in the valleys of Müglitz and Seidewitz, is used for agriculture. Neighboring districts of Dohna include Köttewitz in the northwest and Krebs in the northeast. To the east, the Pirna district of Zuschendorf is adjacent. Nieder- and Oberseidewitz, which belong to the municipality of Bahretal, border it to the southeast. Southwest of Meusegast lies Burkhardswalde and to the west is Weesenstein. Both are part of the municipality of Müglitztal.
