Vogelsang

The residential area is located northwest of the historical city center and is connected to it by a continuous residential development. To the north lies the Berlin suburb, while to the south, the bypass road leads out of the town.

Vogelsang first appeared as Vogel Sang in 1743 as an "establishment or alley in the northwestern extension of the city to the road leading to Dahlewitz." At that time, it consisted of a manor that belonged to the Gallun district and thus to the rule of Königs Wusterhausen. Frederick William I had already acquired the place on October 13, 1716, along with Kallinchen and a third of the town of Gallun, for 15,000 talers from the Brandenburg chamber president Christian Ernst von Münchow. This manor was mentioned again in 1775. In 1801, a "dairy farm near Mittenwalde before the Berlin Gate along with a blacksmith" appeared. At that time, the residential area consisted of a hearth where four people lived. In 1837, the topography of the lower courts of the Kurmark Brandenburg and the added land regions referred to a dairy farm "before the Berlin gate." Eduard Fidicin described in The Territories of the Mark Brandenburg; or, History of the Individual Districts, Cities, Knightly Estates, and Villages in the Same as a continuation of the Land Book of Emperor Charles IV a "corner piece" measuring 11.5 acres. It is said to have been a Wendish fishing village, to which no plow shares had been assigned. In 1890, 53 individuals already lived in Vogelsang. At the beginning of the 19th century, Vogelsang became part of the city of Mittenwalde and has been a suburb of Mittenwalde since 1901.
