The Kleve Gate, an impressive three-storey city gate from the 14th century, is a relic of the old city fortifications. Two round towers, the so-called Owl Towers, flank the first gate opening from the side facing away from the city. A bridge-like driveway, which in earlier times was located above the city moat, leads to the main gate.
The square building was used for many purposes over the centuries, at times it served as a prison. Today, holiday guests can spend the night in it. Once you've climbed the spiral staircases, you'll be able to enjoy great views of the city.
