The city canton of Osterburg was an administrative unit in the Kingdom of Westphalia. It was established in 1807 and united with the canton of Osterburg to form the new canton of Osterburg around 1809. According to the administrative division of the Kingdom of Westphalia, the city canton of Osterburg belonged to the district of Stendal in the department of the Elbe. The cantonal capital was Osterburg ).
In 1807, the Kingdom of Westphalia was founded. In the Treaty of Tilsit, Prussia had to cede the Altmark and the Duchy of Magdeburg, among other territories, to the new kingdom. From these territories and smaller territories ceded by the Kingdom of Saxony, the Department of the Elbe was formed, which was divided into four districts. The district of Stendal was further subdivided into 13 cantons, including the cantons of Osterburg and Osterburg. The city canton of Osterburg originally included four municipalities :
