Kaltenbrunn is a district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Upper Bavaria, Germany, located east of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen core area on the Bundesstraße 2 in the direction of Austria. Kaltenbrunn was the largest village in the municipality of Wamberg, which was incorporated into Garmisch-Partenkirchen on 1 May 1978. Kaltenbrunn station on the Mittenwald Railway is no longer served.
At the last census of 25 May 1987, Kaltenbrunn had 111 inhabitants. Kaltenbrunn, located at about 800 m above sea level in the Wetterstein Mountains, is surrounded by humpback meadows and lakes: the Wagenbrüchsee, which is located near the neighbouring Gerold, and the Barmsee are examples of this. The agricultural area is developed for tourism and offers several cycling and hiking trails and cross-country ski trails in summer and winter for recreation and sports.
