Schimborn has been a part of the market town of Mömbris in the Aschaffenburg district in the Bavarian Vorspessart since May 1, 1978. The village had 1,595 inhabitants in January 2022.
Schimborn is situated on the left and right of the Kahl River in the central Kahlgrund, between Mömbris and Kaltenberg along State Road 2305. The Degen Path, the Franconian Mary Way, and the Kahl Valley-Spessart Bicycle Path run through the village. The topographically highest point of the village community is located at Glasberg, west of the village, at 318 m above sea level, while the lowest point is at the mouth of the Reichenbach into the Kahl at 169 m above sea level.
