Teufelsmoor is the name for a German nature reserve of 1,927 hectares established in 2017 that is part of the region of the same name in Lower Saxony. It is located in the municipality of Osterholz-Scharmbeck and the adjacent Samtgemeinde Hambergen.
In the Early Stone Age, people used a single path to cross the, then almost inaccessible, swamp. This approx. 2.5 km long trail leads from the current village of Gnarrenburg southwards to Karlshöfen, which is now an Ortsteil of Gnarrenburg. It was not until the 15th century that man was able to build dikes elsewhere in the swamp and build roads on them.
