Eilshausen is a village in the municipality of Hiddenhausen, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with a population of 4,672 . The village is located on the bus line Bünde-Herford v.v. In the 12th century, it originated from a village probably founded by a Saxon chieftain Egilulf. After 1880 Eilshausen grew from a poor, small farming village to a village with initially many cigar makers working at home and after the Second World War, when there was a temporary housing shortage due to the influx of hundreds of Heimatvertriebene, a village with many residential areas for people who have a job in the surrounding towns.
