Mirror courtyard

The farmhouse Spiegelhof is located in Bremen, district Burglesum, district Werderland, Lesumbroker Landstraße 220. The house was built in 1667.

The Werderland in Lesumbrok between Lesum and Weser is a sparsely wooded marsh landscape and was a wetland colonized from Lesum. In the Middle Ages, around 1200, there was a free farm here as a court-independent estate, which could grant protection to the persecuted for three days without them being disturbed by the local court. In the 13th to 15th centuries, the knights of Aumund owned the manor, later the von Schönebeck family and then the Bremen council family Steding. At the furthest corner of Werderland stands between oaks and ashes the Hof to den voten or Hof t’on Ort, later the Spiegelhof, which the later Bremen mayor Heinrich von Aschen had built in 1667. Around 1840, the shipbuilder Johann Lange acquired the estate. In 1889, Albrecht Buschmann from Grambke leased the farm.
