Brackwede is a borough on the southwest side of Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. On 30 June 2016, the district had just under 40,000 inhabitants.
Brackwede is located just 13 km northeast of Gütersloh and 3 km southwest of Bielefeld city centre. Brackwede is separated from Bielefeld Centre and neighbouring Gadderbaum by the narrow ridge of the Teutoburg Forest, which has a difference in altitude by 200 metres.
