The Osthalde Westfalen is a tailings heap in Ahlen, Germany. It is the larger of the two slag heaps of the Westfalen colliery and is located in the south-east of the city directly on the Werse.
With an area of around 72 hectares and a maximum height of 167.5 metres and thus around 88 metres above its surroundings, the spoil heap is one of the largest tailings piles in the Ruhr region. On its secondary summit with a height of 151.7 meters, a wooden cross had stood since 2005, which was destroyed by hurricane Friederike in 2018. It was replaced by a metal cross two months later.
